In what ways do you argue it is evident that your arts engagements improve your own business performance?

Morgan Stanley supports an extensive program of cultural, arts and educational projects, believing firmly in the benefits these bring to employees, clients and the communities in which the firm operates. We seek partners and opportunities that reflect our standards of excellence and complement the growth of our business.

We engage with the arts and art organisations through sponsorship and supporting major cultural institutions through their corporate membership schemes.

We have long believed in the business benefits of supporting the arts. Arts sponsorships are a unique and cost effective way to increase awareness of the brand, by aligning the subject matter and values of the sponsored property with the firm’s current strategy and values and provide a culturally innovative platform for engaging with clients, shareholders and employees, as well as strengthening ties with local communities.

In what ways is it evident that your arts engagements improve conditions for artist/arts organisations?

By supporting arts events and organisations, we aim to support cultural institutions and events that enrich the lives of our communities, where our people live and work. We believe firmly in the benefits these bring to the communities by encouraging individuals to enjoy new experiences, gain an understanding of other cultures, and sharing knowledge.

We also take pride in helping arts organisations to continue to make, exhibit and debate art.

Apart from financial support, how can businesses help the arts?

Financial support of the arts by business continues to be incredibly important, enabling institutions to present outstanding programs, while constantly evolving and expanding offerings to include new activities.

Support of the arts is increasingly instrumental in ensuring that exhibitions are able to come to life and provide the community with an insight and understanding into an art form or cultural heritage that otherwise might have gone unnoticed. Morgan Stanley believes that this understanding of cultures is important for all people to experience in today’s increasingly global society.

What are your favourite arts organisations in the Nordic Region?

Wherever our people live and work around the world, we seek partners and opportunities that reflect our standards of excellence and complement the growth of our business.

We have sponsored the Market Art Fair since 2006. Our presence in Stockholm reinforces our commitment to serving our Nordic clients locally and The Market Art Fair is an important platform to engage with them.

We also support cultural institutions and events that enrich the lives of our communities and we are particularly proud that the Market Art Fair is open to the general public in Stockholm, delivering on one of our aims of helping to ensure art accessible to all.
