Emma Göransson

My work investigates human relations to natural and cultural landscapes over time in critical perspectives. In site-specific installations, actions and objects I discuss, criticize and reflect upon philosophical ecology and conditions of human, animal and herbal life. My art usually has a strong sense of materiality, with references to Sami culture, textile handicraft, archaeology and architecture. Experiences of space and spatial awareness are always in focus, whether it is a question of large-scale critique of power relations in our current civilization or silent reflections upon the human psyche and natural landscapes.
