Erik Berglin

Erik Berglin (b. 1980), received an MFA 2010 from Valand Academy of Fine Art in Gothenburg. Berglin's practice is conceptuall and range from interventions in publics pace to storytelling and appropriation of material found online. His practice is based around photography even though he rarely uses a camera; instead he generates imagery using customised computer algorithms. His practice is devoted to exploring the boundaries of what photography is and can be today. Tulip Variation was selected for the Re:Generation exhibition at Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne and included in Thames & Hudsons new book: Flora Photographica. Berglins book TheBird Project 2006 – 2017 won the Swedish Art Book Award 2021 and Swedish Photo Book of the year 2022. Over the last decade Berglin has received a number of considerable grants, including several working grants from the Swedish ArtsGrants Committee.
