Ida Persson

Ida Persson (b.1985) lives and works in Malmö. She studied at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2014. She received the prestigious Fredric Roos Art Grant in 2015, “for developing a personal imagery that reveals the power of relationships in society.” Her methodically constructed paintings reduce surveillance cameras and monitoring devices to simple abstract shapes with something of an architectural quality. Her work has been on display in esteemed group exhibitions, both in Sweden and abroad, notably, Sven Harrys (Konstmuseum), in the exhibition Swedish Art Now! (2016) and Gdanska Galeria Miejska, Poland in the exhibition All We Are (2015).
