Örjan Wallert

Örjan Wallert makes installations using images – paintings - tight geometric constructions with the intention to convey the experience of strong three-dimensionality. In his installations he combines these with three-dimensional real objects that loose their originally intended funktion and become something new when arranged in the art context. Wallert also works with video, performance and sound art. Örjan Wallert (b. 1949) studied at Valand Art Academy, Gothenburg 1977-1980 and at the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm 1980-1982. Wallert had a one man show at Märkisches Museum Berlin, and his work has also been shown at Reykjavik Art museum, Unge Kunstnerers Samfund, Oslo, Living Art Museum, Reykjavik and several art museums in Sweden. His work is represented in Nationalmuseum, Moderna Museet, Göteborgs, Borås Konstmuseum, Stockholms, Göteborgs och Bohus Läns, Uppsala, Älvsborgs Läns Landsting.
