Jenny Källman works with photography, between staged and documentary. Her work is about relating to space and photography as a medium. She portrays young teenagers who find themselves in a transitional state between childhood and adulthood. Their focus is on testing the limits during teenage years, in situations which are marked by explicit power relationships. The latest serie is titled Surveillance, which indicates that the characters are being monitored by someone, perhaps mostly by each other. But also, the pictures turn the observer into a voyeur, who witness the scenes being played out. Källman even works in a sophisticated way with reflections in water, windows and mirrors, which refers to imagery, identity and photography as a medium.
