Karin Alsin used elements as forms and objects for the first time in 2014. During the work process, she discovered the link between elements and her own works; the proximity between the object's physical forms and the word «element itself», its meanings and synonyms.
The four elements earth, fire, wind and water are in any way always present in her work.
In her own words: “The content of the form and the words interact with the thought, the room and our bodies”. This is for Alsin a strong feeling and impetus expressed through her work. The time, life, holds many elements that are yet to be investigated and elaborated. Through physical sensuousness, Alsin presents some of these steps in the exhibition Element.
Her works are mainly sculptural installations, in which idea, shape, material, scale and space are all equally important parts forming the integrity.
