Fotografiska aims to provide a platform for young, talented photographers based in Sweden who capture their everyday lives through unique imagery, with the Emerging Artists initiative. 

Starting in April 2023, the exhibition hall of the building will be dedicated to Emerging Artists in order to create a local and inspiring art scene.

The first artist to be featured is Ikram Abdulkadir, a Malmö-based photographer known for her intimate portraits of family and friends. Her work has been published in prestigious newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, Vice Arabia, and Paletten, and she has been featured on the Swedish Television program Hemmakultur. 

The exhibition, titled I See Home in You, which opens on April 28 at Fotografiska, showcases two of Abdulkadir's photo series: We will meet again in Paradise (2020) and Do you remember the ocean, Abaayo? (2021). The exhibition will run until August 2023 at Fotografiska Stockholm.
