This spring, from 11 Feb until 4 June, an extensive exhibition with works by Spanish surrealist Joan Miró (1893 – 1983), one of the most noted artists of the 20th century, is shown at Prins Eugens Waldermarsudde.
The comprehensive presentation will feature poetical and visionary paintings, sculpture, drawings and textile works, all chosen with the aim to show the artist’s creative process. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to study how the artist was inspired by everyday objects in his work.
Miró’s social commitment is expressed through his notable original posters and in the experimental video, in which Miró is seen creating street art in Barcelona in the late 1960s. The exhibition has been made in collaboration with Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona and the art gallery Kristianstads konsthall.
