Alex Viik

Alex Viik, born 1999 in the outskirts of Gothenburg, has been surrounded by art in many forms in his life. Although his young age, his art has been seen as exceptional and relevant along the western side of his home country of Sweden. Self-taught, Alex Viik work with an impressive language of symbolism without making it overly explicit for the viewer. His art focuses on the things that makes us human. Our history, our characters and our reasons for acting the way we do. ”Painting has been the fire to my life. They can never kill the flame.”
