Johanna Landin

Johanna Landin was born 1981 in Jämtland, Sweden. She is an architect and artist educated at Chalmers University of Technology and the Konstfack University of the Arts. Since 2020, she has been working with spacious textile works, "wall rugs" that she makes herself by hand and with a tufting gun. Johanna is interested in intuitive creation. Nature's chaotic visual language is always in the background as an inspiration. She tufts each rug freely without planning a shape or pattern in advance. In this way, each rug becomes a unique sketch in full scale where mistakes, chance and lack of control shapes the directions of the lines and the final result.
