The exhibition Kännbart investigates how art has the ability to reach and communicate with people beyond the need for sight and hearing.
Kännbart expresses itself in the belief of the arts unique ability to reach and affect people. What is happening with our other senses when we can no longer hear or see? What can be activated and what kind of experiences do we perceive? Are our acquaintances the same? Does it even matter?
With the help of contemporary art, Kännbart creates new meetings in the world of sign language and the art scene. People with deafblindness are therefore in the centre of this exhibition. The art is newly produced and explores new techniques and approach new ways, in which people with seeing – and hearing disabilities can cohere with the show.
The project is owned by ABF Örebro Län, and cooperation with Förbundet Sverige Dövblinda (FSDB), together with Riksutställningar. The project is financed by Arvsfonden.
Free admission from 10th of June till 27th of August.
